The CORE Story
Jim D. Evans grew up in a real estate and auction family. His father, Buford Evans was one of the first licensed brokers and auctioneers in the State of Tennessee. Jim graduated from Nashville Auction School in 1982 and secured his Master Auction License in 1984. In 1985 he opened Jim Evans Appraisal Services in Columbia, TN. From 1985 until April of 1999, Jim performed real estate appraisals of residential and commercial properties all over Tennessee. During this time, he also worked with a national industrial auction firm, selling real estate and equipment all over the United States. Also during this time period, Jim Evans was an approved instructor of real estate and real estate appraisals by the State of Tennessee. He has provided continuing education and seminars on real estate related subjects all over Tennessee. In 1999, Jim joined a group of local businessmen to form the Community First Bank and Trust in Columbia, Tennessee. He established the real estate lending department for Community First Bank during his four years of service ending in September of 2003. Jim assisted Community First Bank in growing to $400 Million in assets during its first four years. In 2003, Jim was hired as a Senior Vice President to join the Greene County Bank that was acquiring banks in Middle Tennessee. He began his tenure as a real estate lender in the Murfreesboro, TN market. In 2005 he was promoted to Regional President with GreenBank overseeing several counties in Middle Tennessee. In 2011, Jim transferred to the Special Assets Department of GreenBank, now Capital Bank N.A. From 2011 until 2014, he was moved into the position to manage the sale of bank owned real estate assets. During this period of time he assisted in moving over $100 million of bank owned real estate and bank notes out of special assets. This transitioned Jim D. Evans to form CORE Real Estate in 2014.
Jim Evans spent many hours searching for the perfect name for his real estate company. The word “CORE” kept reoccurring in his thoughts. We all have heard of CORE values that are defining elements in our internal makeup. CORE was chosen because it represents the values that Jim had in mind. Jim wanted his clients and all other professionals to experience the CORE difference. CORE was built upon Jim Evans’ extraordinary real estate experience, his commitment to excellent service through ethical business relationships.
